Rugby is a very popular sport in America. It is one of those games which have large number of fans throughout America and Europe. Rugby is known to produce best players in the history. Every emerging star in the history of rugby had something special. But top of the top players have made their named forever in the history of rugby.

According to us, the players who deserve the top ten positions will be discussed here and those who are not included does not mean that they were useless, but they were of no match to the players we will discuss with you here.

1.      Naas Botha


Naas Botha stays at the number one in our top players of rugby. No matter, Botha has left his mark on the game of rugby. Naas Botha got the skills to be an excellent kicker. He was the only person to make drop goals when under pressure. He was the only South African to score 312 points so far in the game of rugby.

2.      Shane Williams

4.      Martin Johnson


Martin Johnson is magical player of Rugby for all times. In 1993 he played a match from England’s side against the France which he won. From that time he was in the list of emerging stars of Rugby and in the year 1995 he made England won Grand Slam. After that he became the captain of the England. In his Captaincy, England won 2003 World Cup.

5.      David Campese


David was one of the best players in the history of Rugby. He played more than 100 times from behalf of Australia and scored most of the test tries until 2006. He was famous player in the 1991 world cup where England was defeated by Australia in the finals. David was famous among the fans due to his entertaining nature and outstanding dodge skills.

6.      Dan Carter


Dan is the greatest kicker player ever in the history of the game. He is the highest scorer in the Tri Nations Championship by scoring 1,382 points. In 2005, Dan scored 33 points against the Irish lions and British. He was a best tries scorer for New Zealand.

7.      Richie McCaw


McCaw started his career from New Zealand’s side in 2001 where he was awarded as the man of the match in a match against Ireland which New Zealand won. McCaw’s performance in that match was outstanding. He was appointed Captain in 2006. He won the World title for New Zealand in 2011.

8.      Jonny Wilkinson


Jonny was the emerging rugby player in the year 2001, soon after he rocked the screen in the year 2003. He scored the drop goal against Australia in the extra minutes of the game which was the winning goal of the World Cup. Jonny was also the best player in the 2007 World Cup of Rugby. Jonny is also the highest point scorer ever in the history of Rugby.

9.      Percy Montgomery


Percy is one of the South Africa’s greatest kickers. Percy was the highest point scorer in the year 2004-5 in the Tri Nations championship. Percy’s kick in the Final moments of the World cup 2007 led South Africa take home the world title.

10.    Gareth Edwards


Gareth was one of the best rugby players of his times. He had multiple skills such as Pace, Speed and the will to score tries than any other player. He was the legend of his times when Rugby was banned in most of the countries such as South Africa.
