Being a second-generation fighter is a big responsibility. Many can sometimes not fill their family members’ boots, follow their legacy or keep all that weight on their shoulders. Therefore, some try to move away from the shadow of their surnames trying to make a race for themselves.
Former Female Champion, Charlotte Flair recently did an interview with Pensacola News Journal to talk about a variety of topics. During the interview “La Reina” talked about what it was like to grow up as the daughter of “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair :
“I can not imagine the pressure on, say, Michael Jordan’s children, but in my case I think it has molded me into the person I am today. I think I ‘m definitely coming out of my father’s shadow, but it was difficult at first. However, I would never change my surname, and I could not be more proud to carry on his legacy . “
Being on SmackDown Live as a technique:
“This is a new transition for me, but I will take it as a challenge to be the best I can be. Obviously, where I feel comfortable because of my size, my personality and my presence, it’s definitely being rude, but I’m ready to see what I can do as a technique. “
