Darren Young, Ready To Return – Will He Return To Backlund?

After the Prime Time Players were disbanded, Darren Young was aligned with Hall of Famer Bob Backlund with the motto of “Make Darren Young Great Again,” which was the overlapping support of Vince McMahon and his company The then presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Young had a brief rivalry for the Intercontinental Championship with The Miz , which was abruptly interrupted when he was injured and was a low in the cast of Monday Night Raw.

Pro Wrestling Sheet has confirmed that former Nexus member Darren Young has been allowed to return to the ring by WWE physicians after remaining out of action for almost 6 months. Young was part of NXT’s first season under the tutelage of CM Punk and later became a member of the infamous Nexus faction led by NXT season winner Wade Barrett.

He suffered an elbow injury last January while competing in a match against Primo and Epico during an episode of the weekly Main Event program. He underwent surgery in February to repair the injured elbow. It was previously reported that it was expected to be declared fit to return to action this month and the site reports that it was assessed this week in which it found itself completely fit.

There is currently no news about when he will return to the ring or whether he will remain in Backlund’s company when he returns to WWE programming.
