Jerry Lawler: “Impact Was About To Have Jim Ross And Me”

Jerry “The King” Lawler , moved from a post at the SmackDown commenters table to the WWE pre-show. Later the company made the decision to remove the Hall of Famer as well as Lita from their weekly schedule.

The move made them move from full-time agreements to legends contracts.

In the last Podcast episode “Dinner with the King” , conducted by Lawler and Gleen Moore, the King revealed that when it became known that he would no longer be on SmackDown, Jeff Jarrett sought him out to join Impact Wrestling.

“Yes, the truth is, I got a call from Jeff Jarrett , who said, ‘ Hey, we wondered if you were gonna stay with WWE or not.’ Then I clarified that yes, that in fact had just signed the new contract.

- Did not they want Jim Ross too? He said he was in negotiations to go to Impact; He was even going to make his debut at Slammiversary.

- No doubt Jeff’s idea was to get us together, and I guess that’s what JR wanted too

Lawler also announced his upcoming appearance in WWE, which will be during the Battleground pre-show and as co-host of Talking Smack with Renee Young after Battleground.
