John Cena

John Cena And The “Curse” Of The Nexus

Recently, there had been talk here in SUPER STRUGGLES of Mr. Money in the Bank’s chances, Baron Corbin, to be victorious in WWE SummerSlam (2017) . Well, it may be that John Cena does not necessarily have the cards in his favor at that event, since, similar to the “Lone Wolf” case , Cena carries with him the “curse” of The Nexus.

As many people will remember, at SummerSlam 2010 the rapper teamed up with Edge , Chris Jericho , John Morrison , R-Truth , Bret “The Hitman” Hart , Daniel Bryan , beat the Nexus : Darren Young , Michael Tarver , Skip Sheffield ( Ryback ), David Otunga , Justin Gabriel , Heath Slater , and their leader, Wade Barret .

That victory was, so far, considered the most notorious “burial” that has executed the 16-time World Champion , having “sent to the pipe” the opportunity of a whole faction to build a credible reputation as rude and as a group dominant. Until then, everything indicated that it would be, with that shocking breakthrough in Raw that for a few minutes violated the company’s PG policy.

Now that defeat seems to have affected John Cena’s chances of victory in the “Biggest Summer Event” ; Because since that time, Cena has not won a fight again at SummerSlam .

The defeats suffered by the leader of the Cenation have been:

SummerSlam 2011: CM Punk beat John Cena for the WWE Indisputed Championship.
SumerSlam 2012: CM Punk beat John Cena and Big Show for the WWE Championship.
SumerSlam 2013: Daniel Bryan defeated John Cena for the WWE Championship.
SumerSlam 2014: Brock Lesnar defeated John Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
SumerSlam 2015: Seth Rollins defeated John Cena in a fight for the WWE Fullweight World Championship and the United States Championship.
SummerSlam 2016: AJ Styles beat John Cena.

As we have seen, Cena has the same, or rather less chances of emerging victorious against Baron Corbin this Sunday at SummerSlam due to the “curse” of the Nexus. If the rapper falls before Baron Corbin, he would be 7 consecutive losses , which equals the number of wrestlers who fell victim to the WWE Team led by him at that SummerSlam of 2010.

Within a week, August 20, from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, we’ll find out. Do not miss the best coverage of WWE SummerSlam (2017), here in SUPER STRUGGLES .
